About Us

The Sun continued its tabloid format until January 2001 when it became a broadsheet publication. In June 2002 the newspaper began publishing weekly to serve the scenic Possum Kingdom Lake area and Palo Pinto County. In its first year of eligibility for participation in the Better Newspaper Contests, The Sun received 12 awards from North and East Texas Press Association, West Texas Press Association and Texas Press Association.
