The Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce has supported business in the area for over 75 years and works to advance and promote the economic vitality of the area. While most people's first impression of the chamber is a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the chamber also works diligently behind the scenes for its members and promotes tourism. The chamber stays engaged with local officials to ensure that ordinances are business friendly. The chamber also offers assistance to new and existing attractions and projects. For example, the chamber partnered with the city of Mineral Wells and the Dallas Paleontological Society to open the Mineral Wells Fossil Park in 2010. The chamber provides a marketing campaign and promotional items each year for the park. For businesses of all types, the chamber offers a variety of solutions and aids with workforce development, advertising and networking opportunities. Through its Workforce Development and Education Committee, the chamber partners with Mineral Wells ISD and its members to produce a Co-op Fair, a Career Fair and junior-high level programming. For those who need marketing assistance, the chamber helps its members get the word out about their businesses through: Press releases. Social media. Newsletter and online advertising. Newsletter inserts. Event and program sponsorships. Ribbon cuttings. Newspaper advertising. Networking is a primary reason many businesses join the chamber. Throughout the year, the chamber organizes several events. Signature events are the Awards Banquet in September and State of the Community in January. Members should look for their "save the date" notices for these important meetings. New in 2012, the Chamber Resource Team is a high-intensity networking group that offers exclusive lead-generation opportunities for participating businesses. For the general membership, Business Connections events are held after hours at a different member each quarter. At the quarterly Power of Business Luncheon, keynote speakers update members on business topics and trends including legislative affairs and marketing. In addition to business services, the chamber looks out for the overall health of the area's economy. With the city of Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County and local school and economic development leaders, the chamber facilitates a series of luncheons for existing businesses designed to assess needs and barriers to growth as well as opportunities. The chamber also functions as a Visitor Center for Mineral Wells and Palo Pinto County. In addition to entertaining guests and answering inquiries, the chamber works with tourism partners to bring more visitors to the area. This is done through sponsoring events and advertising. The chamber sponsors the Crazy Water Festival, the Kiwanis Crazy Kicker Bike Ride, Updating of the Wall at the National Vietnam War Museum, the Bluegrass Festival at Coffee Creek RV Resort and Cabins, the Iris Stagner Memorial Bike Race and many more events. The organization also partners with Clark Gardens Botanical Park to promote weddings in the area. With 417 members, the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic association serving home-based businesses as well as publicly traded companies.
