A bigger crowd attended this year's Possum Fest and cook-off.
Pam Wheat, Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce executive assistant, said there were 330 total entries in the cook-off, up about 60 from last year. That figure represents entries from 94 cooks, 14 more than last year.
"I think it was great, I just thought everybody had a good time," she said.
The silent auction raised $12,346, while the live auction generated $16,926.
There were also 743 raffle tickets sold. The winning ticket belonged to James Britain.
"The food coupons were really good this year," Wheat added. "We sold about 3,000 tickets."
And for the first time, the chamber had a booth in the center of the cook-off and camping area.
"Our chamber booth was more of a convenience for people," she said.
