Even with the bad weather, the numbers for the 2013 VFW Senior Thanksgiving Dinner were high - 541.
Jane't Fisher reported VFW Post 2399 served 225 at the building, 160 for Meals on Wheels, 137 went to nursing homes and Mineral Wells police and fire received 20.
And all the left overs will be donated to the Dogs of War for their Homeless Thanksgiving Meal on Thanksgiving Day.
"We would like to thank all the people who put in their time and hard work," Fisher added. "We would like to recognize the youth who helped set up, serve, and clean up."
