The Angel Tree at Possum Kingdom Lake, now located at Bonitaville Restaurant, has about 50 new angels ready for the picking. "Because of the ice, we're way behind," said Lesa Pawley, one of the tree's coordinators. The Angel Tree contains the names of children who might not otherwise have a Christmas present. Clothing sizes, gender and ages are included on the tree cards as well as gift requests. "We need the wrapped gifts back by (Tuesday) Dec. 17," she added. Gifts will be delivered Saturday, Dec. 21. "Volunteers are needed on Dec. 21 to deliver," said Pawley, adding that deliveries will begin at 9 a.m. from Bonitaville. Applications for inclusion on the Angel Tree are available at the restaurant. While the requested deadline has passed, Pawley said applications would still be accepted. In addition, cash will be accepted at the Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce or at Bonitaville in order to buy food gift certificates for Morrow's in Graford and the Trading Post at PK. Those gift certificates will be for food items only - no alcohol, tobacco or lottery tickets can be purchased with the certificates. "We're not going to turn down food donations," she continued, adding that food items will be distributed also. Cash will also be used to purchase gifts for children whose cards were not selected from the Angel Tree Bonitaville is open seven days a week.
