Palo Pinto County commissioners took no action on reinstating a burn ban Monday.
County Fire Marshal Buddy Harwell told the court that last week's rain had improved county conditions.
"I feel comfortable leaving it off," he said.
In other business, commissioners gave David McDonald, county public works director, permission to explore a possible fix for the courthouse sewer system.
"We're having problems under the courthouse," McDonald said. "What's happening, it's stopping up all the time. We're having to unclog the sewer line every two weeks now."
He explained that the cast iron sewer lines were installed when the courthouse was built. A camera run through the line showed the metal was flaking, contributing to the problem.
A company advertised it can enter the lines and spray a polymer or PVC-like coating on the inside of the line. McDonald said the alternative was to remove flooring to access the line
