Sunday evening proved to be tricky as moisture from mist and fog settled on roadways and bridges, making for dangerous driving. That evening it was reported that a vehicle rolled over on the bridge at the Highway 16 bridge over Rock Creek, just north of the intersection of Highway 337 and Highway 16. Possum Kingdom East EMS responded as well as the volunteer fire department. There were no reports of serious injuries. Before that accident could be cleared, a pickup pulling a trailer loaded with hay spun out of control on the bridge, completely blocking it. There were no injuries reported in that accident. Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Gary Rozzell, information officer, had no information on these two accidents by press time. Also that evening, an accident resulted in the death of one person on Highway 1885 east of Palo Pinto County. Rozzell said the accident occurred about 5:27 p.m. a mile west of Highway 920. "A 2002 Nissan Xterra was westbound on 1885," he said. "The driver encountered a slick spot." The Nissan entered the eastbound lane and struck a 2005 Saturn. "The drivers of the Nissan and Saturn were flown to Harris Hospital in Fort Worth," Rozzell said. "Three children in the Saturn were taken to Cook Children's Hospital. The front seat passenger in the Saturn died." He said names were being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
