As National Child Abuse Prevention Month comes to a close, Palo Pinto County will open one of Texas’ newest child advocacy centers, the Children’s Alliance Center for Palo Pinto County.
CACPPC will celebrate and bless its renovated facility 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by an open house with light refreshments.
Joining the celebration will be CACPPC President and District Attorney Mike Burns, State Rep. Jim Keffer and other dignitaries. Travis Elementary Cadets will contribute their musical talents. All those present will be invited to encircle the building in prayer, led by local pastors and board members Pam Holt and William Eudy.
The Children’s Alliance Center will work with Child Protective Services, law enforcement, prosecutors, and medical and mental health professionals who will meet regularly as a multidisciplinary team to review and track child-abuse investigations.
Citizens are invited to new center, located at 204 SE Third Ave.
