About 4:30 p.m. June 5, an accident at the intersection of Highway 281 and FM 4 resulted in serious injuries to the driver of a 2007 Toyota.
Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Gary Rozzell, information officer, said Shasta Annemarie Orr, 25, of Fort Worth, was traveling south on Highway 281 and made a left turn onto Highway 4 into the path of a northbound 2001 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Carl W. Creamer, 54, of Wichita, Kan.
The Toyota stopped on the west side shoulder, facing north while the Kenworth jackknifed on the east side of the highway, the trailer facing north, the cab southeast.
Reports from the scene were that Creamer was uninjured.
Santo Volunteer Fire Department and EMS along with Lipan VFD and EMS responded to the accident. The highway was closed for a period of time before single-lane traffic was allowed through.
Orr was taken by Air Evac Lifeteam to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Rozzell said the last report on her condition was that she was listed as “critical.”
