The Mineral Wells Senior Center provided cake and ice cream and entertainment with a live band for a full house Friday as guests and staff celebrated 21 birthdays that fell within the month of June.
Jacinto Tafolla, Pat Talkington, Ken Whitley, Jack Tongate, Maxine Shupp, Diane Stalnaker, Don Reese, Emilio Luna, Thomas Dykeman, Albert Potter, Bruce Light, Al Tatum, Ken Johnson, Wanda Boyd, Rosemary Barclay, Margaret Strain, Anita Hueber, Ruth Tongate, Kay Roberts, Joe Ann Swinney and Vera Heath were the honorees.
The center is located at 102 NW Sixth Ave. and is open 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday offering low-cost, hot meals at noon, computer and art classes, exercises for flexibility and range of motion, strength and balance, health checks and more.
A Taste of Palo Pinto County, the major fundraising event of the year for the center, is set for 6 p.m. Monday, July 14, at the Holiday Hills Country Club.
Tickets are $50 for reserved seating and $35 for general admission. Advance tickets are available at the center and will also be sold at the door.
