Mineral Wells tightens water restrictions
Restrictions tighten in Mineral Wells during the Stage II Drought Contingency Plan.
Officials released amendments to the plan, Thursday, July 3, to restrict usage for water customers in an effort to conserve water.
The amendments allow residential usage of water on a “once per week basis,” city officials noted. Also released was a schedule for residents to abide by during this stage of the contingency plan.
Houses with a physical address ending in 0 and 8 have watering privileges on Mondays; 1 and 9 on Tuesdays; 2 and 6, Wednesdays; 3 and 7, Thursdays; and 4 and 5, Fridays.
No outside residential water use is allowed on weekends.
Officials noted that violations may result in a fine up to $500 per occurrence and/or discontinuance of water service. The action was placed in effect to ensure adequate water supply is available for the city and its water customers during the current drought conditions.
For further information or questions, call the Public Works Department, 940-328-7777.
