Food, fellowship, fun and shopping are what brought together area women for the Possum Kingdom Women's Club annual "Diva Night" fund-raiser Saturday, June 29, at the Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce. The event, which featured several vendors from around the area, aimed at giving women a night to splurge on themselves, according to PKWC president Marily Blair. "Everyone had such a good time," said Blair. "The food was outstanding, the vendors had great items and the foot massages were just heaven." Many of those in attendance enjoyed the fruits of their labor throughout the evening. Club members organized the event for the second year as a way to raise funds and provide a night of glitz and glamour at the lake.

Ladies were presented with pink champagne at the beginning of the evening and treated to food from several area restaurants. Door prizes followed with chances to win several items donated by local merchants. "The donations were great," she added. "It was all a success and we look forward to making it bigger and better next year." The club works throughout the year to raise funds for several charitable organizations in the area. It supports the PK East Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, Charlie's Angels, Camp Grady Spruce and has established a scholarship program as well.
