"It begins at 7:30 a.m. at YMCA Camp Grady Spruce," said Gary Metcalf, organizer of the event. "There are two distances, sprint and Olympic."
The event features a swim course, bike route and run.
Metcalf said the sprint course includes a 500-meter swim, a 17-mile bike ride and a 5-mile run. The Olympic course includes a 1,500-meter swim, a 40-kilometer bike ride and 10K run.
"Last year, there were 300 athletes," Metcalf said. "We're currently up 25 percent over last year. We have folks from all over Texas and eight other states."
There is a $5,000 pro purse for the top three finishers in the men's and women's divisions.

The bicycle and run routes will include Park Road 36, FM 2353 and Highway 16 from the intersection of FM 2353 to the tower near the intersection of Highway 337.
"When possible, stay away from those roads from 7:30 to 11 a.m.," Metcalf asked.
The Palo Pinto County Sheriff's Office, Brazos River Authority and Texas Department of Transportation will handle road closures during the event.
