The TRIFECTA Triathlon returned to Possum Kingdom Lake Sunday.
Gary Metcalf, organizer of the event, said the second annual triathlon had a significant increase in participants.
"We had 350 athletes registered," he said. "We had a little over 100 volunteers.
The event featured a swim course, bike route and run.
The overall men's winner was Brent Poulsen, of Canada, and the female overall winner was Lauren Barnett, a first year professional triathlon competitor from Dallas.
"There were 15 states represented and three foreign countries," Metcalf added.
"Our hats off to the Brazos River Authority, YMCA Camp Grady Spruce, PK EMS, the chamber of commerce, the many people who helped us organize the event and all the volunteers," said Metcalf.
