Meat inspections begin at noon today, Friday, with several events this evening.
Judging of entries will be Saturday as well as a live auction and award of prizes.

The Palo Pinto County Humane Society will hold a pet adoption 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Waldens Farm and Ranch in Mineral Wells featuring dogs, puppies, cats and kittens.
Friday, Oct. 11
Crazy Water Festival
The 2013 Crazy Water Festival will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11-12, in Mineral Wells.
This year's festival celebrates 134 years of Crazy Water.
The Crazy Water Festival started in 1979 to celebrate the crazy history of Mineral Wells and the famous water for which it's known.
On Friday night, Oct. 11, the festival kicks off with the car cruise with classic and custom-built vehicles.
The cruise will be followed by a concert at the Little Rock Schoolhouse Amphitheater.
This was the first public school building in Mineral Wells.
The main part of the festival kicks off Saturday, Oct. 12, with the Crazy 5K Run, followed by the festival opening at 9 a.m.
Saturday, Oct. 12
Open Door Christian School will hold Fall Fest beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the school, 735 Oak St., Graham.
A full slate of activities are included beginning with a 5K run at 8 a.m.; 1K fun run at 10; and a cage dodge ball tournament at 11. From 4-9 p.m., there will be carnival games, food, live music, a petting zoo, pony rides and more.

A members-only Possum Kingdom Lake Association meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce.

Saturday, Oct. 19
The Highway 16 National Register nomination will be heard at a State Board of Review meeting set for 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Chandor Gardens in Weatherford.
The work to preserve the 8.4-mile segment of State Highway 16, located in Palo Pinto County, is east of Possum Kingdom Lake, north of the town of Brad, and west of the town of Graford.
The nominated section of SH 16 extends from Brackeen Drive to State Highway 254.
The meeting is open to the public.

Tour of Homes
The Possum Kingdom Women's Club annual Tour of Homes will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Cliffs.
Tickets will be available from any PKWC member and local businesses or can also be purchased at the homes.
The Graford Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary is compiling a cookbook.
Auxiliary members are asking for local residents to submit recipes.

The Inland Divers Association is now accepting applications for membership.
It is a non-profit organization in the interest of preserving and developing scuba diving at Possum Kingdom Lake, located at 3203 Redbird Road, next to Lakeside RV Park.

The auxiliary is no longer accepting mattresses or box springs.
