Friends of Ronda Gibson held a benefit to help with medical expenses Sunday, at the Possum Kingdom Chamber Commerce.
Surgery in October led to complications and additional emergency surgeries, her husband, Johnny Gibson, explained.
"Ronda is currently in ICU, on the ventilator, fighting for her life," noted Dee Dee Jordan, a family friend. "This has taken a tremendous toll on her family and income. We are asking that you help Pay it Forward to help someone who has built her life around helping others. Ronda has no health insurance to help with any of these growing expenses."
"We appreciate all the support we have and are very lucky to have such caring friends," Johnny Gibson said. "She's proud of her community and does everything she can for it.

The event was organized by Gibson s friends to raise money to help pay medical expenses for Gibson, who has undergone surgeries and extended hospital stays.
