Friend to Friend
Exhibits, vendors, food, door prizes and information are all part of a Friend to Friend party that women of all ages are invited to attend beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at First Christian Church, 302 NW Sixth St., Mineral Wells.
The Friend to Friend party is a free event that is being hosted by Palo Pinto General Hospital and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Palo Pinto County along with the support of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, the Moncrief Cancer Institute and other local sponsors.

Saturday, May 17
The Santo High School Sporting Clay Shoot will be held Saturday, May 17, at Dodson Prairie Shooting Range in Strawn.
The first flight is 8 a.m., second at 10 with lunch served at noon.
Cost is $300 per four-person team, with proceeds supporting the Strawn Booster Club.

Palo Pinto Humane Society will hold a pet adoption 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Steeles in the Brazos Mall in Mineral Wells.
Run for the Wall
Run For The Wall began its three-route journey from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., May 14 headed to Washington D.C.
At 3:30 p.m. Saturday, the group will be at the National Vietnam War Museum to lay a wreath at the apex of the Vietnam Memorial Wall replica.
Sunday, May 18
The Pickwick-McAdams Cemetery Association annual meeting will kick off with a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at the cemetery tabernacle.
The business meeting will begin at 1:30.
Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish.

Possum Kingdom East Volunteer Fire Department and EMS will hold the annual boot drive beginning at 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday, May 23-24, at the intersection of Park Road 36 and FM 23534.
This annual fundraiser helps maintain equipment and purchase supplies for the continuing operation of the services.
PK West Sale
The Possum Kingdom West Emergency Services Auxiliary will hold the annual Memorial Day weekend sale 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 23-24, at the fire station, located at the corner of FM 1148 and Green Acres Road.
As always, a large selection of almost anything imaginable will be available, including a 1996 Waverunner with a trailer as well as furnishings, clothes and more.

PK West Breakfast
The Possum Kingdom West Emergency Services will host a pancake breakfast 7-11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at the PK West Side VFD station, located at the corner of FM 1148 and Green Acres Road.
Pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee will be on the menu. Cost will be $5 for adults, $3 for children.
Proceeds go to support PK West Emergency Services.
Closest to the Pin
The PK Women’s Club will host another “Closest to the Pin” contest at the Cliffs Resort at PK Lake.
The contest will be held at the Par 3, ninth hole.
The cost is $10 per ball for a chance to make the closest to the pin and win a $200 cash prize.

End of Season Party
The Graford Ballpark Association’s Little League End of Season Party will be held beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at the City Park in downtown Graford.
The event will feature trophy presentations, hot dogs, hamburgers and two water slides.

PKLA Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the Possum Kingdom Lake Association will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce, 362 N. FM 2353.
The site of the National Vietnam War Museum will host the fifth annual Updating of the Wall Saturday, June 7.
Fates open at 8 a.m., the ceremonies begin at 10.
This year, four names will be added to the replica Vietnam Memorial Wall.

Church Youth Program
PK Community Church holds a youth and children program 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays at Charlie’s Angels Senior Center.

It is a non-profit organization in the interest of preserving and developing scuba diving at Possum Kingdom Lake, located at 3203 Redbird Road, next to Lakeside RV Park.

The Possum Kingdom Lions Club asked that medical equipment on loan that is no longer being used be returned to the Lions Club Building, 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays, or to Charlie’s Angels Tuesday or Thursday mornings.

The auxiliary is no longer accepting mattresses or box springs. Do not leave donated items outside the fire station or Lions Club.
