From Sunday, July 20, to Thursday, July 24, children can explore God through hands-on, minds-on activities.
At First Christian Church, children will “experience” some of the adventures faced by Moses and the Israelites. Children and adults participate at the Israelite Camp, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into Bible-times snacks, visit Moses and collect Bible memory buddies to remind them of God’s word.
Participants learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God sightings. Each day concludes with celebration — a time of upbeat worship that gets everyone involved.
So, don’t miss out. The five-day program goes daily from 5:45-8 p.m. Registration for Wilderness Escape is open for children in the community from 4 years old through fifth grade, whether or not they have a home church.
“It’s the greatest fun ever to learn about Jesus and church and God’s love,” explained the Rev. Pam Holt. “VBS at First Christian Church helps develop life-long learning skills and ‘create a memory for children to build a foundation of faith on – an experience that will help sustain them through the joys and challenges of life.’”
First Christian Church is located at 302 NW Sixth St.
in Mineral Wells.

In addition to having a fun learning experience, children and adults at Wilderness Escape VBS will join nearly a million participants reaching out to needy children through a hands-on mission project called Operation Kid-to-Kid, in which families will raise money to provide clean water in India.
