Christmas in July
The Possum Kingdom East Volunteer Fire Department and EMS Auxiliary will hold a one day Christmas in July sale 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the auxiliary’s new location, 142 La Villa Road, on the lake’s East Side.
Clothing will sell by the bag full, $1 for a small bag; and there will be 13-gallon grab bags pre-packed with clothes for $3.
As always, there will be a large selection of treasures, furniture and sporting goods at bargain prices.
Possum Kingdom East Volunteer Fire Department will hold a fish fry 4-8 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the station, 358 N. FM 2353.
The menu offers fish, french fries, tea, desserts and more for a donation to the department.
This annual fund-raiser helps the department with the purchase of equipment and supplies to help keep PK and surrounding areas safe.
Carter BloodCare will hold a blood drive 2-8 p.m. at the fire station.

Caddo Postal Meeting
The U.S. Postal Service will hold a community meeting regarding the future of mail service in Caddo at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the Caddo Volunteer Fire Department, 581 County Road 108, in Caddo.
Surveys will be sent to customers within the delivery zip code of this post office and the post office box customer.
At the meeting, local management will share the results of the survey and answer questions.

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in Palo Pinto County and the Palo Pinto Soil and Water Conservation District invited the public to attend the 2014 Local Working Group meeting set for 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the Mineral Wells Service Center, 415 SW First St., Mineral Wells.

TPWD Public Meeting
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will hold a public meeting regarding the proposed facilities and recreational use concept for Palo Pinto Mountains State Park 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Opel Guest Chapel, 321 Houston Ave., in Strawn..
During the meeting, proposed facilities and recreational use will be discussed.

The Humane Society of Young County will have a low cost/no cost spay and neuter clinic Monday, Aug. 11.

Church Youth Program
PK Community Church holds a youth and children program 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays at Charlie’s Angels Senior Center.

All donations are tax deductible and sales benefit the volunteer fire and ambulance services.

The auxiliary is no longer accepting mattresses or box springs. Do not leave donated items outside the fire station or Lions Club.
