Red's Grocery, Gas and Grill in Palo Pinto has undergone a face-lift.
Red Segars opened the doors over 50 years ago and since that time, the store that bears his name has functioned as a general store, town center and, at times, a source of heated debate. Red's is still located on its original site at 606 Cedar.
Current owners Ronald and Cassie Bell celebrated the renovations with a ribbon-cutting ceremony March 12.
The Bells bought the store in December 2012 and quickly got under way with the renovations. According to Jane Bell, renovating the store was one reason they bought it.
The store now boasts a grill area and outdoor patio complete with barbecue pit. The store also added a dessert bar. Daily specials and everything from steaks to buttermilk pie are now available.
"People are really excited to see the changes," said Jerry Gamblin, Red's employee. "We have had some folks come in who haven't been here in years."
