Another fire Monday was of questionable causes.
County Fire Marshal Buddy Harwell said the late afternoon fire was reported along old Highway 180 west of Palo Pinto and east of Highway 16 North.
He said the latest fire brings to 10 the number of suspicious blazes over the last couple of weeks.
Two fires last week were of suspicious nature, a roadside fire on Teichmann Road and one at Palo Pinto that officials said were of undetermined causes.
The Palo Pinto and Lone Camp volunteer fire departments responded to the Teichmann Road. Palo Pinto VFD responded to the one in town at Cedar and Second. Both were contained to small areas.
Harwell said there is suspicion that an arsonist is at work.
"We've had 10 small fires since Thursday (March 7)," Harwell said.
Those fires have been two on Highway 4 south, two on Highway 4 north, two on Pleasant Valley Road and one on Highway 180 in addition to the latest three.
