Palo Pinto County clean-up will be 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. As in years past, county residents can take trash to their precinct barns. In Graford, Precinct 2 Commissioner Louis Ragle said the Precinct 2 barn will be open from about 7:30 a.m. to 3 or 3:30 p.m. "We will accept tires at no charge, brush and appliances," he said. "There will be people to help unload." The Precinct 2 facility will not accept batteries, paint, paint thinner, asbestos shingles, tar paper or petroleum products. Ragle suggested contacting other precinct barns for more information about their hours and procedures. In Mineral Wells, the clean-up will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Connie Ball, with Keep Mineral Wells Beautiful, said residents can take items to the convenience station on Highway 281. "They will take tires," she said. "There is a $1 charge for tires up to 17 inches, $3 for larger tires." Tires mounted on rims, metal and batteries can be taken to J&S Salvage, 3202 MH 279, Mineral Wells. "We do this the first Saturday in May and the last Saturday in October," Ball said.
