Figures from the Texas Workforce Commission showed the unemployment rate in Palo Pinto County decreased in March and labor force and number employed increased.
The March unemployment rate in the county went to 6.2 percent, down from the 6.5 percent reported in February. That compares to an unemployment rate of 6.4 percent in March 2012.
The March workforce was reported as 14,302. In March 2012, the workforce was reported 14,343.
Figures also show there were 13,416 employed in March, up 80 from February's figure of 13,336. In March 2012, there were 13,428 employed. TWC also reported there were 886 unemployed last month, down 35 from the 921 the previous month and 29 fewer unemployed than reported a year ago.
