Palo Pinto General Hospital is looking towards the future with plans to break ground on a $7 million medical facility as early as July.
The new medical office will be located on the PPGH campus north of the main hospital near the billboard. With 30,000 square feet of space, it will have room to house several new physicians or service providers as well as provide a new home for the rural family health clinic.
"We want our hospital to be prepared for whatever the future of health care might be," said PPGH CEO Harris Brooks. "The board has been working on plans for this facility for about two years."
According to Brooks, the current emergency room has out-grown its space and, by moving the family clinic to a new location, the hospital will be able to provide more treatment space and solve the issue of the two sharing a waiting room.
