It was another busy weekend for first responders and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers in Palo Pinto County.
Trooper Gary Rozzell, DPS information officer, said a motorcycle accident on Highway 16 sent Douglas Duane Hutson, 45, of Graham, to a Fort Worth hospital with undetermined injuries.
"He possibly hit a pothole," Rozzell said.
According to Rozzell, Hutson's 1989 Honda Goldwing left the roadway near a sharp curve in the area of The Hills Above PK.
On FM 2201, Trooper Hank Beverage investigated an accident involving three vehicles.
"Samantha Everett, 31, of Mineral Wells, was driving a 2005 GMC pickup," he said. "Joseph Hadley, 31, was driving a 2000 Volkswagen. Hadley was passing a Peterbilt tractor-trailer in a no passing zone and collided with the Volkswagen.
Possum Kingdom East EMS responds to a motorcycle accident on Highway 16 Saturday and treats Douglas Duane Hutson who was transported by Air Evac to a Fort Worth hospital with undetermined injuries.
The tractor-trailer was not involved in the accident, he added.
At 2:22 p.m. Saturday, Stacie Jurczak was driving southbound on Highway 281 at Natty Flat when her 2008 Toyota was struck in the rear by a 2008 Chevrolet pickup driven by Holton Lane Westbrook, 19, of Stephenville.
"She was traveling south as was Westbrook," Rozzell said. "She was slowing to turn into the second driveway at Natty Flat. He hit her in the rear."
Rozzell said Westbrook was issued a citation for failure to control speed.
At 4:17 p.m. Sunday, Graford Fire and EMS was dispatched to a rollover accident on Highway 4 about a mile north of Graford.
Kayla Rae Martin, 17, of Jacksboro was northbound on Highway 4 when she ran off the road and her 2001 Dodge pickup overturned, pinning her inside.
Rozzell said Graford used the jaws of life to gain access. Martin was transported to Faith Community Hospital in Jacksboro with undetermined injuries.
