Change can be hard, but it can also offer some great bargains at the Possum Kingdom East Volunteer Fire Department and EMS Auxiliary two-day, half-price sale this weekend.
Cathy Hardin, auxiliary president, said the organization will be moving to the Lions Club Building, 142 La Villa Road, following the sale that will be open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday.
"After the sale, all donations need to be taken to the Lions Club Building," she said, adding that the hours to accept donations will be the same - Saturday mornings.
The Lions Club will continue to use the building for its meetings and breakfasts on holiday weekends.
This special sale features practically everything at half off, but there are some exceptions.
Hardin said an Elvis Presley pinball machine, one of only 400 made, will be offered for $5,000.
"It works," she added.
There is also a Ms. Pacman machine that starts at $2,000 and a two-man boat with a trolling motor is offered for $300.
"We have an air hockey table and lots of furniture," Hardin said.
Other offerings include a complete sail board and one needing some parts, a mist-cooler, fired ceramics with some molds, appliances, toys, clothes, books, knickknacks, sinks and cabinets, and just about anything imaginable.
Following the sale Saturday, Possum Kingdom East VFD will hold a fish fry 4-8 p.m. at the station.
The cost for this fund-raiser is a donation to the department.
