Figures from the Texas Workforce Commission showed the unemployment rate in Palo Pinto County increased again in June as did the size of the labor force, those with jobs and those unemployed.
The June unemployment rate in the county went to 6.4 percent, up from the 6.1 percent reported in May. That compares to an unemployment rate of 6.7 percent in June 2012.
The June workforce was reported as 14,905. In May, that figure was 14,650 and a year ago, the workforce numbered 14,835.
Figures also show there were 13,953 employed in June, up 190 from May's figure of 13,763. In June 2012, there were 13,842 employed. TWC also reported there were 952 unemployed last month, up 65 from the 887 the previous month and 41 fewer unemployed than reported a year ago.
