Graford bounced back from last month's lower sales tax rebate with a bigger check this month.
Graford received a check of $10,321, an increase of more than 11 percent compared to last year's rebate of $9,284. For the year, Graford has received $88,631, up more than 14.3 percent over last year's total at this time of $77,510.
Mineral Wells received a bigger check this month at $294,812, nearly 17 percent more than the $252,098 in last year's check. So far this year, Mineral Wells is just over 1.5 percent behind rebates received last year at a little more than $3 million.
Mingus' rebate dropped over 22 percent this month with a check of $1,279. Mingus is just shy of 8 percent ahead of 2012, having received $15,306 this year.
Strawn reversed its losses with a modest gain, receiving $11,908, up 3 percent compared to last year's check of $11,560. This year, Strawn has received $96,902 down 25 percent from the $128,626 at this time in 2012.
Gordon received a marginally higher check, up less than 1 percent. This month the town received $4,435, $37.10 more than last year's October rebate. For the year, Gordon has received $48,523, down 10.8 percent from last year's $54,403.
The total rebates for county communities in October were $322,757, up more than 16.6 percent compared to last year's $278,984. County community totals are close to 2.3 percent lower than in 2012 when communities had received just over $3.34 million.
