At a special meeting Monday, Palo Pinto County commissioners took no action to impose a burn ban. While Palo Pinto County Fire Marshal Buddy Harwell recommended that no burn ban be imposed, he did suggest that his recommendation next Monday will be to put the ban in place for the winter. "We still haven't had any issues," he told commissioners, but added that with vegetation now dead from recent freezing conditions, his recommendation on Dec. 9 will likely be to reinstate the ban. Those who are conducting outdoor burning are asked to notify the Palo Pinto County Sheriff's Office beforehand, 940-659-2085.
