Personnel matters were the subject of a few actions at commissioner's court Monday. After 29 years, Precinct 3 Constable Noah Bragg has called it quits. Today, Friday, is his last day. "He has been a lot of help to me," said Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Todd Baker. "He carried the West Side of the lake by himself for years," added Sheriff Ira Mercer. Palo Pinto County commissioners accepted his resignation Monday and County Judge David Nicklas presented a plaque in appreciation for his years of service. In addition, the court appointed Michael Standifer to replace Bragg. That appointment is effective Saturday. Standifer has been a patrol deputy with the Palo Pinto County Sheriff's Office for 12 years. "I love working with people," he said. "You get up everyday and it's something new." Standifer said he has lived on the West Side for about 18 months. "I will be on the East Side, too," he said of his job.
