Figures from the Texas Workforce Commission again showed mixed results in the unemployment data for Palo Pinto County.
The January unemployment rate in the county was at 5.6 percent, up from 5.5 percent in December. That compares to an unemployment rate of 6.6 percent in January 2013.
However, the January workforce, reported as 14,351, was smaller than December but higher than January 2013. In December, that figure was 14,467 and a year ago, the workforce numbered 14,253.
Figures also show there were 13,551 employed in January, down 119 from December’s figure of 13,670. In January 2013, there were 13,314 employed. TWC also reported there were 800 unemployed last month, up three from the 797 the previous month and 139 fewer than reported a year ago.
