A long standing problem at the Palo Pinto County Courthouse may soon be flushed away — sewer backups.
Monday, commissioners approved $9,250 to reline a 30-foot length of cast iron sewer line with PVC to eliminate, so to speak, a problem area that has plagued the courthouse.
“We’re constantly having issues,” said County Judge David Nicklas.
David McDonald, county public works director, told the court that he could find only one company that could line the offending section of pipe without having to tear out courthouse flooring. That line is located directly under the courthouse. The company is Accurate Leak & Line.
“The future of drain pipe repair is Nu-Flow trenchless pipe restoration, which uses a pulled-in-place epoxy coating to re-line complete sewer systems or spot repair isolated leaks,” the Dallas-based company’s website notes. “We reline pipe systems from within the pipe, eliminating extensive and costly destruction and excavation of your home or business.”
