The Lake Country Sun was again recognized by the North and East Texas Press Association.
The awards were announced last weekend at NETPA’s annual convention.
The Sun took second place in editorial writing for a pair of editorials submitted for judging. Those were “More pressing issue” in the Nov. 6, 2013, paper and “Tuesday’s confrontation” in the Nov. 15, 2013, issue.
The Sun took a third place in feature writing that was awarded for “Nov. 22, 1963: Death of a President” and “Change in life for big city resident.”
In news photography, The Sun received a third place for a pair of photos, one of ice on a cedar tree, the other a reflection of firefighters in a fire truck hub cap.
The Sun also took third in feature photos with a picture of firefighters at the Mineral Wells fire school and a picture of a couple at North D&D.
