March figures from the Texas Workforce Commission showed a drop in the unemployment rate in Palo Pinto County as well as more people employed.
The March unemployment rate in the county was at 5.2 percent, down from 5.6 percent in February. That compares to an unemployment rate of 6.1 percent in March 2013.
Last month’s workforce, reported as 14,570, was higher than February’s 14,493 and higher than March 2013’s 14,371.
Figures also show there were 13,819 employed in March, up 134 from February’s figure of 13,676. A year ago, there were 13,490 employed. TWC also reported there were 751 unemployed last month, down 66 from the 817 the previous month and 130 fewer than reported a year ago.
