A hay fire Saturday kept Graford volunteer firefighters busy through noon Sunday.
The Graford Volunteer Fire Department received a call about a hay fire on Keechi Ranch Road around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Graford VFD Chief Alton Reed said firefighters found about 62 rolls of hay that had been started by a grinder cutting pipe.
“We had a crew out there all night and we finished about noon Sunday,” Reed said.
Firefighters used the department’s bulldozer to break open the rolls.
A structure fire was reported at The Harbor Saturday afternoon.
Possum Kingdom East VFD responded to find a smoke-filled home but no dangerous flames. According to reports, a small fire in a closet area of the home that was under construction was almost out when firefighters arrived.
Palo Pinto County Fire Marshal Buddy Harwell said that fire was still under investigation.
