“This year we’re adding $10,000 to the show,” said Pam Wheat, executive assistant at the PK chamber. “I’m calling it the bigger and better show.”
A new addition to this year’s fireworks will be choreography to music, broadcast over 87.7 FM.
The annual event will again be visible at Camp Grady Spruce, directly across from Hell’s Gate, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. and closing at 8:45 p.m.
“It is the very best place to see the fireworks,” Gayla Chambers, executive director of the PK chamber, said.
The admission to the camp is $5 per person, children under 3 are free. There will be concessions, but picnics will also be allowed, as well as activities for children.
Alcohol and pets are prohibited.
There are also VIP packages available with premium viewing areas and parking. Call the chamber for information and pricing.
“There will be no access to the camp by boat,” Chambers added. “All that wish to take part in the activities on land are encouraged to enter through the gates.
“Not only is this a great place to see the fireworks, it’s also a great experience,” she continued.
The PK chamber pays for the show and last year, there was a shortage of donations.
“We’re still asking for donations,” Wheat stressed.
The fireworks show will be put on by Lone Star Fireworks of Possum Hollow.
T-shirts will be available and can be purchased at the chamber, Whataburger and the Trading Post.
Donations can be sent to Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce, 362 N. FM 2353, Graford, TX 76449.
