The afternoon of July 9, one man died as a result of a vehicle accident on FM 2951 between Harris Drive and the entrance to North D&D at Possum Kingdom Lake.
Gary Rozzell, Texas Department of Public Safety information officer,  said Gary Wayne Longerbone, 81, of PK Lake died when the 1995 GMC he was driving ran into a dock that was being towed.
“The GMC was eastbound on FM 2951, the towed dock was westbound,” Rozzell said.
He explained that the dock extended across both lanes and Longerbone’s truck impacted the dock in his lane.
PK East EMS responded to the scene and PK East Volunteer Fire Department personnel had to remove the roof and driver’s door of the GMC.
