June figures from the Texas Workforce Commission showed another slight increase in the unemployment rate in Palo Pinto County while also showing more people employed.
The June unemployment rate in the county was at 4.8 percent, up from 4.6 percent in May. That compares to an unemployment rate of 6.4 percent in June 2013.
This month’s workforce, reported as 14,800, was higher than May’s 14,658 but lower than June 2013’s 14,848.
Figures also show there were 14,085 employed in June, up 102 from May’s figure of 13,983. A year ago, there were 13,901 employed. TWC also reported there were 715 unemployed last month, up 40 from the 675 the previous month and 232 fewer than reported a year ago.
