Palo Pinto County sheriff’s deputies and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers had their hands full Saturday night with somewhere around 100 party revelers.
“Someone at the Lake Palo Pinto Marina called in about a big gathering that was getting bigger and bigger and louder and louder,” said Chief Deputy Craig Goen.
According to deputies who responded, 75-80 percent of those at the party were under the age of 21.
“They were drinking and smoking weed,” one deputy said. “We disbanded the party.”
Sudderth said a message went out of Twitter and Facebook that there would be a going-away party for a  college-bound student.
Deputies reported that, when they arrived, the party people scattered to the woods and cars.
Deputies put two in custody who escaped, one while still wearing handcuffs.
“There were just more people than we could handle,” a deputy reported.
“Everybody we identified were sober, not intoxicated,” the deputy reported. “Out of that, we only talked to four kids from Mineral Wells.
The rest were from the Metroplex.
