Late last week, an accident sent two Peaster volunteer firefighters to the hospital.
Trooper Gary Rozzell, Texas Department of Public Safety public information officer, said the two were responding to an accident in which a woman had struck a deer on South FM 1885.
Rozzell said John Vandyke, 30, driver of the brush truck, was thrown from the vehicle after it left the roadway. When the truck hit a culvert, it rolled over Vandyke before coming to rest on its top. Cody Low, 18, was a passenger in the vehicle.
Vandyke was taken by ground ambulance to Harris Hospital, Low was taken to Weatherford Regional Medical Center.
