This tanker trailer, loaded with hydrochloric acid, began leaking on Interstate 20 Saturday afternoon. Troopers on scene said it was about eight miles before the driver left I-20 and stopped off the Interstate at the 380 exit. Firefighters from Santo Volunteer Fire Department responded and helped contain the acid until a HazMat team arrived. No injuries were reported. The acid is also a respiratory hazard. There were no road closures or evacuations in the area.
