Lorene “Betty” Todd from Wichita Falls passed Saturday, March 15, in San Antonio with family by her side. She was 94.
Born to Everette Paul and Addie Mae Rains, she was raised in the rural community of Charlie, northeast of Wichita Falls, where she will be laid to rest in the springtime.
She was a strong, capable, and spirited woman and a member at Tenth and Broad Church of Christ.
She loved life and had many interests, some of which were gardening, cooking, fishing, preserving fresh foods and family gatherings. She was a nurse and later owned several businesses.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; four sisters; husband Joseph Franklin Todd; a son, Carl Wayne Browning Sr.; and granddaughter Lindsay Ann Johnson.
Surviving family members include one sister, Etta; daughters Sandra Kaye Patterson and husband Mike of San Antonio, Linda Johnson and husband Barry of Possum Kingdom Lake; grandchildren Justin and Jason Johnson, Jaclyn Prothro, Michael Patterson, Kim Alamo, Carl Browning Jr., Stacye Ondricek and Lesa Toney; and various great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Her amazing strength and tenacity will be remembered by all who knew her.
There will be a family graveside service later in warmer spring weather.
