Over 360 cyclists braved the harsh winds and steep hills of the Lake Country to compete in the second annual Mineral Wells Stage Race this past weekend.
"The weekend was a huge success," said Andy Hollinger, editor-in-chief of The Racing Post. "We had over 370 people sign up and over 360 actually show up. This is almost double the number of those who braved the heavy rains last April."
Hollinger went on to say that he kept getting compliment after compliment from different riders at how hospitable and nice the members of the community and law enforcement were.
"Many of the riders said that they couldn't wait to return to another ride here," he added. "They would comment on how abundantly nice the people were and how beautiful the scenery is. When you have good people and an excellent course the race will just continue to get bigger and bigger."
