With a 52-29 win against Perrin Tuesday, the Santo Lady Cats began district play at 1-0. "It was a rough game, we had several foul out or with four fouls," reported Coach Tony Raffaele. "Perrin scored 16 of their points on the free throw line. "I was proud of the way our girls held their composure and continued to play hard for the entire game. "Defense is the major equalizer in every game," he added. Santo took a 16-6 lead into the second quarter and parlayed that to a 29-15 halftime advantage. Taylor Nemeth and Courtney Flanagan led the girls with 11 points; Breeana Raffaele, Megan MacPherson and Chasen Howard, seven each; Payton Billue and Callie Wharton, four apiece; and Madison Lasater, one. The Lady Cats' record improved to 13-7. The girls play at Chico tonight, Friday.
