The Graford Lady Rabbits suffered a 39-50 loss in a game against the Newcastle Lady Bobcats Tuesday. Newcastle started with a first quarter lead of 21-10. Graford held close in the second quarter but trailed 22-35. In the third quarter, the Graford girls stayed close, scoring nine to Newcastle's 10. Despite an 8-5 scoring edge in the final frame, the Lady Rabbits came up short. The Graford Lady Rabbits traveled to Paint Creek last week and came home with a 52-42 win, improving their record to 15-8 on the year and 5-1 in district. "We could not buy a basket the first quarter or make a free throw," noted Coach Jarod Westmoreland. "The second half was much better with Sydney Wimberly scoring 16 points and Ashly Rogers scoring 12. We have to have four good quarters Tuesday against Newcastle or it will be another long night."
