Tuesday, the Santo Lady Cats handed the Ranger Bulldogs a 69-20 loss. Santo jumped out to an 11-4 first quarter lead and built that to a 28-7 lead at half. The Lady Cats scored 26 points in the third quarter, holding the Bulldogs to only three. Payton Billue led the girls with 21 points, Chasen Howard, 15; Taylor Nemeth, eight; Courtney Flanagan, seven; Breeana Raffaele and Madison Lasater scored six each; Callie Wharton, four; Jaci Trotter scored two. The No. 7 ranked Santo record improved to 19-4 and 8-0 in district, with a TABC Ranking. Santo will play a warm-up game against Gunter at 7 p.m. Friday at Saginaw High School. The area playoff game will start a week from Friday, but information will not be available until late Tuesday. The Lady Cats secured a district championship Friday night by handing the Poolville Lady Monarchs a 74-29 loss.
