The Graford Lady Rabbits' season came to a close after suffering a disappointing 40-26 loss in the bi-district game against the Baird Lady Bears. "It was a tough loss for the girls and I hate that our season is over with," noted coach Jarod Westmoreland, "Once the playoff games start, teams get better, but Baird was a tough draw for us. They made it to regionals last year and it showed why they did. The pressure they put on Sydney (Wimberly) and the other guards made it difficult for us to get going on offense." Ashley Hay led Graford with eight points; Morgan Hendershott added seven; Ashly Rogers, six; and Sydney Wimberly scored five. The Lady Rabbits' season ended with a record of 18-10. In a warm-up game played Feb. 8, the girls handed the Perrin Lady Pirates a 44-35 loss. Graford started with a first quarter lead of 13-3. Scoring 14, the Lady Rabbits took a 27-13 halftime lead. They went on to score eight points in the third and 10 in the final. Hay led Graford with 15 points; Wimberly added 10; Amanda Francies, five; Rogers, Hendershott and Izzy Balvantin each made four; and Kyndze Pendergraft scored two.
