Santo Independent School District Coach Tony Raffaele announced the results from the District 15-A tennis tournament held Thursday, March 20, at Tarleton State University.
“All the students did the best they could as they continue to learn the game of tennis,” noted Raffaele. “Our time for practice is limited, but the kids are having fun.”
 In varsity boys singles, Kyle Mercer, of Santo, was defeated 6-3, 6-2 by Garrett Johnson, of Poolville, and Ian Sparks, of Santo, was defeated 6-0, 6-1 by Lane Smith of Hico.
 In varsity mixed doubles, Yaqueline Reyna and Anthony Sandoval were defeated 6-3, 6-0 by Kendall Maxwell and Colton Atchison of Poolville.
 In junior varsity boys singles, Gideon Wheeler was defeated 8-0 by Reigan Casco of San Saba; Homer Ortiz, of Santo, was defeated 8-5 by Vernon Piland of Hico; and Noah Smith, of Santo, was defeated 8-2 by Kutter Isham, of San Saba.
 In junior varsity girls singles, Shannon Fisher was defeated 8-2 by Erin Sanders, of San Saba.
In the third-place match, Fisher defeated Perla Perea of Valley Mills. Fisher won a third-place medal.
 Chasity Crow was defeated 9-8 by Perea of Valley Mills. Santo’s Sarah Leonard defeated Perea of Valley Mills 8-4.
In the first-place match, Leonard was defeated 8-0 by Sanders. Leonard won a second-place medal.
