The Santo Wildcats beat the Albany Lions 13-5 Friday, at Santo, in seven innings.
The Wildcats scored six runs in the sixth on a fielder’s choice, a hit by pitch, a three-run triple by Grant Gilbert and an RBI single by Kyle Moore.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with seven lead changes.
The Wildcats finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. They scored on an RBI single by Dylan Swinney off Hunter Conally, plating Garrett Nemeth.
Grant Gilbert racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Wildcats.
Swinney recorded the win for the Wildcats even though he allowed five runs over 6-2/3 innings. He struck out 12, walked five and gave up four hits.
The Wildcats easily handled Albany pitching as six hitters combined for 10 hits, 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
Santo will play the Baird Bears at 4 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Santo.
