At the recent Region III-1A, Division II playoffs in Bullard, the Strawn Greyhounds finished fifth, earning 45 points, and the Lady Hounds finished 11th, with 19 points. 
Jayde Price won a gold medal in discus and qualified for state with a throw of 101 feet, 9 inches.
Ross Alison won a gold medal in discus with a throw of 147 feet, 11 inches, also earning a state berth.
Tyler Bays won a gold medal in the pole vault  with an 11-foot, 6-inch, vault, assuring a trip to Austin.
Nic Miller won a bronze medal with a 10-foot, 6-inch, vault.
Chase Mackey came in third place, earning a bronze medal, in shot put and discus.
Marcus Lopez came in fourth place in discus.
“Jayde Price, Tyler Bays and Ross Alison will be going to the UIL State Track and Field Meet this Friday and Saturday, May 9-10, at the University of Texas Mike Myers Stadium in Austin,” said Coach Dewaine Lee, Strawn athletic director.
